Manchester United fans have plenty to say about Luke Shaw’s Euro 2024 final performance, make the same point

Manchester United and England have continued to show patience with Luke Shaw, and it’s clear why.

Luke Shaw’s injury problems have been a headache for Manchester United and England. But when he is fully fit, his quality is not in doubt.

Shaw started the Euro 2024 final against Spain, a big show of faith from England boss Gareth Southgate given it was his first start in any game since February.

Although it was unclear whether he was even 100% fit, Shaw produced a “100% locked-in” performance to deal with the threat of Lamine Yamal.

Manchester United fans on Luke Shaw

Manchester United fans were hugely impressed with Luke Shaw’s performance, agreeing he is among the best players on the pitch – and reinforcing the view that he is one of the best left-backs in the world.

He kept Lamine Yamal quiet for most of the game, with the Spanish winger being one of the standout players of the tournament.

One fan wrote: “Luke Shaw is the best player on the pitch so far. Without a doubt, he is the best LB in the world.”

Another added: “Luke Shaw what a player you are,” while a third commented: “Luke Shaw is the best LB I’m not even kidding.”

A fourth fan wrote: “Luke Shaw. Phenomenal,” as another added: “Luke Shaw the best player on the pitch.”

One United fan wrote: “All I’m asking for is a perfect Luke Shaw next season please,” while another added: “Luke Shaw is the best LB in the world when fit.”

Another fan commented: “That’s why us United fans say Luke Shaw is easily the best left-back in the world.”

And another comment said: “Luke Shaw has decided to use the shape of Shawberto Carlos.”

Luke Shaw and England lose

Before the game, Sir Jim Ratcliffe asked Luke Shaw to get through the game without injury.

England and Spain canceled each other out in the opening 45 minutes, with Shaw effectively canceling out star Lamine Yamal.

Spain took the lead through Nico Williams before Cole Palmer equalised, only for Mike Oyarzabal to score a late winner.

Shaw could do nothing about either goal, both of which came down England’s right. But he ends up with another European Championship vice-championship medal.
