EPL: Ndidi keen to work under new Leicester boss Cooper

Wilfred Ndidi has said he is looking forward to working with new Leicester City manager Steve Cooper, DAILY POST reports.

Ndidi signed a new three-year deal with the former Premier League champions on Friday.

He ended speculation surrounding his future after his previous contract expired at the end of last month.

The defensive midfielder is now contracted to Leicester City until 2027.

The Nigerian international admitted that the new gaffer was one of the reasons why he decided to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.

“I had a chance to talk to (Cooper). I spoke to him on holiday when he came in,” Ndidi told the club’s official website.

“He had some good ideas to share with me, so it was really, really, really amazing and I can’t wait to work with him. He’s a great guy, he’s funny. I’m looking forward to working with him, he’s very exciting.”

The 27-year-old arrived at Leicester City from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk in January 2017.

Won the FA Cup and Community Shield with the Foxes in 2021.

Leicester City will host Tottenham Hotspur in their first game of the 2024/25 season on August 19.
