Prince William ditched his suit to show off his beach volleyball skills during a day of beach volleyball in Cornwall.

Crowds at Fistral Beach watched on Thursday, May 9, as the 41-year-old prince served and perfected his stance only for him to clumsily hit the ball into the net.

Despite his blunder on the beach, the crowd cheered him on with rapturous applause.

While volleyball may not be his area of ​​expertise, William is known to be very good at other sports, including water polo.

As a student at St Andrew’s University, he represented Scotland in the Celtic Nations tour. He was previously captain of the swimming team and football team at Eton.

William’s volleyball match came in the middle of his first night away from his wife Princess Kate Middleton42 years old, he was diagnosed with cancer.

Kate revealed in March that she had been diagnosed with a form of cancer following abdominal surgery two months ago.

Before Kate’s health battle was made public, an insider said We weekly that William “cancelled two out-of-country appearances” to attend to “more childcare duties” at home, following Kate’s procedure.

(The couple, who recently celebrated 13 years of marriage, share Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.)

William will also travel to the Isles of Scilly today, Friday 10 May, to meet hospital staff and operators in St Mary’s Harbour.

Kate, meanwhile, is taking time to get back into the swing of royal duties. She was last seen attending an official engagement in December 2023 and has largely stayed out of the public eye during her recovery.

Buckingham Palace previously announced that Kate’s return to public duties would be at the discretion of her doctors.

“The Princess will return to official duties when cleared to do so by her medical team. She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery,” it said in a March statement.

It added that William “will continue to balance supporting his wife and family with maintaining his official duties, as he has done since the beginning of the year.”
