Man faces jail after headbutting victim and threatening to kill her in Leicester

A thug faces jail for headbutting a man during a vicious attack in Leicester city centre. The incident was captured on CCTV, including an audio recording in which Elton Buffonge, 31, could be heard threatening to kill the victim.

Buffonge appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Wednesday) and admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm and using threatening behavior with intent to cause fear of violence. Buffonge said to the man, “I’m going to kill you, brother. Do you hear me? Do you know that?”

After repeatedly kicking and stomping on the man’s head, Buffonge left, telling him: “I’ll be back for you.”

Prosecutor Vishal Patel told the court: “On July 2, police received calls from numerous passers-by on Granby Street. The defendant repeatedly punched the victim, kicked her and hit her in the head.

“He suffered numerous blows to the head and due to the extent of the injury an ambulance was called. The defendant repeatedly shouted, “I’m going to kill you.”

“This was in a public place and there were numerous people around watching it happen.” He said Buffonge had 11 previous offenses on his record.
