Matt Peet spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Wigan Warriors’ Round 18 Betfred Super League visit to Hull FC.

Warriors face Hull FC at the MKM Stadium on Saturday afternoon and ahead of the clash, Peet said: “This is always a challenging away game so we know we are up for a game. They have introduced some good young players and their games are getting more competitive and closer. They will continue to build on that.”

Giving an update on the Warriors squad after a Derby win against St Helens last time out, Peet said: “We are in good form. The usual bumps and bruises that you can expect from a game like this don’t seem like a concern, so we’re good.”

On the improvements, Peet said: “The challenge is to improve and raise our standards, which is always the case. We talk a lot about what we do well and what we can do more of, as well as what we need to do to be better. It’s as simple as that.”

Tyler Dupree could make his 100th career appearance this weekend and of the forward, Peet said: “He has proved to be a great fit for Wigan both on and off the pitch. He has some remarkable talents—the power, the speed—but he’s also eager to learn and improve. I can’t say enough good things about how he’s applied himself since joining and he’s tasted a bit of success, which is great.”

Speaking about the Robin Park Arena gigs, Peet said: “There’s a lot of positive energy in the city at the moment and these gigs have played a big part in that. Our normal work week was taken, but we were fine. Sometimes change is a great experience for all players.”

Tickets for Saturday’s visit of Hull FC remain on sale from The Brick Community Stadium Box Office and online HERE.
