Birmingham City’s Juninho Bacuna is wanted by a new club

Sivasspor are facing competition from an unnamed club in their pursuit of Birmingham City midfielder Juninho Bacuna, as detailed in a report by BirminghamLive.

The Turkish Super Lig side recently received an offer for the player as they try to lure him to Turkey. However, they will have to fend off interest from another team now if they want to land him.

Bacuna, 26, is under contract with Birmingham City until June 2026, meaning he has one year left on his contract. However, he risks losing it for nothing in 12 months if he doesn’t cash it in now or in January, assuming he doesn’t extend any time soon.

In this latest update on his situation from BirminghamLive, there is a new side to his signature. It is still unknown who they are or what country they are playing in at this stage.

THE QUIZ STARTS!

Birmingham City’s latest midfielder

It seems inevitable that Bacuna will leave Birmingham City in the near future following their relegation to League One.

They were relegated from the Championship after finishing in the bottom three with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town.

Offloading Bacuna would boost the Blues’ finances, but his next destination is unclear at this point.

He joined the Midlands outfit in 2022 and has been a key player ever since.

The Curacao international made 111 appearances in all competitions and bagged 13 goals, nine of which came in the last campaign.

He began his senior career at FC Groningen and broke into the first team before Huddersfield Town lured him to Engand.

Bacuna then played 107 games for the Terriers in total and found the net on 12 occasions.

Rangers lured him to Scotland in 2021 but he spent just six months at Ibrox before Birmingham City brought him back across the border.

Where next for the Birmingham City man?

Sivasspor have already recently brought in Alex Pritchard from the Blues and want Bacuna.

Another team has entered the race, however, and his future is up in the air.
