Suspected car thief arrested in Sedgley

Posting on his official X account, formerly Twitter, today, officers said they have an “alleged car thief” in their cells after several cars were stolen in Dudley and Wolverhampton.

The 23-year-old was arrested by police at a property in Sedgley during an investigation into car thefts in April and May 2023.

He also confirmed that the suspected thief remains in police custody today as inquiries continue.

Posting on his X account today, he said: “We have a suspected car thief in custody after a number of cars were stolen in Dudley and Wolverhampton last year.

“Officers today arrested the 23-year-old man at a property in Sedgley as part of an investigation into a series of car thefts in April and May 2023.

“He remains in police custody while our inquiries continue.

“We know that vehicle theft is costly and distressing and we are committed to identifying and apprehending those involved.
