A woman (80) has died following a two-vehicle Enfield crash

An 80-year-old woman has died following a crash in Enfield, County Meath.

The two-vehicle collision took place yesterday at around 2pm on the R148.

Police and emergency services arrived at the scene, and the driver of one vehicle, an 80-year-old woman, was pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with non-life threatening injuries.

The local coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.

The road was closed to allow a technical examination but has since reopened.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, particularly those with dash cam footage, to come forward.
