A woman (80 years old) dies in collision with Enfield



An 80-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle collision in Enfield yesterday.

The collision took place yesterday, around 14.00, on the R148 ring road.

Police and emergency services were alerted to the collision involving two cars on the R148 at Johnstown, Enfield. The driver of one of these cars, a woman (aged 80), was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where she sadly died later that evening.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries which are described as non-life threatening.

The local coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, particularly those with dash cam footage, to come forward.
