Police have launched an investigation after a firearm was discharged in Adelaide Close, SW9

Armed officers were called to Adelaide Close in Brixton yesterday after witnesses saw a gunman open fire on a group of boys from a car in a drive-by shooting.

No arrests have yet been made.

In a statement, the Met Police said:

An investigation is underway after a firearm was discharged in a residential street in Lambeth.

Police were called at 9.24pm on Wednesday 17 July to reports of a firearm being discharged in Adelaide Close, SW9.

The police intervened and found a bullet casing at the scene.

Witnesses say a man with a gun in a vehicle shot at a group of boys on the street.

They were not injured.

No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Raymond Sekalongo from Trident said:

We want to assure the public that our investigation is ongoing as we seek to identify those responsible for the discharge of this firearm.

We take gun crime very seriously and will use every resource to keep the public safe.”
