Rick Stein’s Boozer has been voted the UK’s ‘best dog-friendly pub’

Set just outside the coastal town of Padstow, surrounded by green fields and picturesque country lanes lies The Cornish Arms. The pub, owned by British chef Rick Stein, has been named ‘the best dog-friendly pub in the UK’ by experts at dog-friendly holiday specialist Canine Cottages.

The review was sparked by a rapid increase in searches for “dog friendly pubs near me” in recent months, with a survey by Canine Cottages finding 79% of dog owners say pubs and restaurants dog friendly are important when booking a holiday. .




As part of their report, Canine Cottages said: “The Cornish Arms, St Merryn is Rick Stein’s famous pub and unsurprisingly serves amazing food. One of the best dog friendly pubs in North Cornwall; in the summer months the large beer garden is perfect. to soak up the Cornish sunshine or for a lazy summer evening after a day on one of the many nearby beaches.”

The traditional village pub is set in the Cornish countryside, offering a classic pub menu and a selection of real ales from St Austell Brewery. Menu staples include fish and chips, burgers, ham, eggs and chips and steak and beer pie, and in the summer months the spacious beer garden hosts a wood-fired pizza menu.

In winter, the pub offers a fireplace and a cozy bar area to escape the cold outdoors.
