Xavi Simons sends wordless message to Joshua Zirkzee amid Manchester United transfer links

Joshua Zirkzee received a message from Xavi Simons after completing a move to Manchester United.

Zirkzee was confirmed as the first signing of the summer transfer window by United on Sunday afternoon. The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term deal at Old Trafford which sees him commit his future to the Reds until 2029, with the option of a further year.

Reports in recent days have seen Simons’ future the subject of intense speculation. The versatile playmaker spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain and has been linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 club this summer.

United have been credited with an interest in signing Simons this summer, who scored the first goal for the Netherlands in their semi-final defeat to England at Euro 2024. The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals with 15 assists in all competitions in his time. loan period at Leipzig last season.
