Super League’s leading try scorer Ryan Hall talks move to Leeds Rhinos

The veteran England winger, 36, will join his hometown club in 2025 but returns to Headingley this weekend in the colors of current club Hull KR, pushing for a top-two finish.

He may have ‘parked’ his Leeds future, but winger Ryan Hall is certainly moving on at Hull KR.

Super League’s leading try scorer joins his hometown Rhinos in 2025. And the veteran England winger returns to Headingley in Rovers colors on Saturday as Willies Peters’ side continue their push for the top two. Hall scored 233 tries in 330 games for Leeds before moving to the Sydney Roosters in 2019 and has made 56 of 95 for KR over the past four years.

He has returned to Headingley many times since his first spell with the club. But Hall doesn’t expect tomorrow to be any different, despite announcing in April that he would end his glittering career with the Rhinos.

He explained: “I had every feeling to move on earlier in the season when I had to.

“Now that the decision has been made I have put it to bed because I have signed with Hull KR this year and I have a job for Hull KR. I want to make the most of it.

“I’ve put all the stuff about going to Leeds on the back burner because that’s very much next year. I’ve got a job to do this season and I’ve got to do it as well as I can. I’m familiar with being Leeds but it’s just a game on which I focus on trying to go and win.”

And Rovers know the importance of victory if they are to go on and secure second place – their best ever Super League finish, which also brings home a semi-final.

They were level with Warrington going into this round, while St Helens, Catalans and Salford were all just two points behind them. KR beat Leeds 22-12 in February and the West Yorkshire club have been wildly inconsistent since then, which saw Rohan Smith sacked recently.
