Birmingham City sign Icelandic midfielder Willum Thór Willumsson from Go Ahead Eagles

Birmingham City have officially announced the signing of Willum Thór Willumsson from Go Ahead Eagles. The 25-year-old has signed a four-year deal at St Andrew’s until the summer of 2028.

Willumsson spent the last two seasons in the Eredivisie with Go Ahead Eagles, where he played 62 times, scoring 15 goals and providing six assists. The nine-time Iceland international is as versatile as any midfielder could get. He is capable of playing on either wing or in a deep midfield role, but predominantly plays as an attacking midfielder.

Thór has a hammer left foot, loves shooting from distance and is sure to play a pivotal role in Birmingham’s push for direct promotion back to the Championship.
