Newcastle United are in action when they take on Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Here are all the details you need to know about the game…

WHERE IS THE GAME?

After finishing their home campaign by drawing with Brighton at St James’ Park on Saturday, Newcastle head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The Magpies have already picked up a win at Old Trafford this season, with goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock securing a 3-0 victory in the Carabao Cup in November. Newcastle also beat Manchester United in the reverse fixture at St James’ in December, with Anthony Gordon scoring the only goal of the game in the second half.

If the Magpies win on Wednesday, they will complete their first league double against Manchester United since 1930-31.

However, their long-term record at Old Trafford is dire, with Newcastle winning just one of their last 38 league games at Manchester United’s home ground.

WHAT TIME IS KICK-OFF?

Wednesday’s match starts at 20:00.

ARE TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE?

No – all tickets for the away section at Old Trafford have been sold and the game is a complete sell-out, Manchester United have also sold all tickets for the home sections of the ground.

IS THE GAME TELEVISED OR LIVE?

Yes – Wednesday’s match has been selected for broadcast by Sky Sports and will be televised on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels, as well as via the Sky Sports website and app.

As the game has been selected for live coverage, no domestic streaming is available.

Radio coverage of Wednesday’s game will be available on talkSPORT and BBC Radio Newcastle and The Northern Echo’s Scott Wilson will be at Old Trafford to produce a live blog, report, ratings, reaction and analysis on The Northern’s website Echo.

WHAT IS NEWCASTLE’S LIKELY LINE-UP?

With a number of injured players returning to action, Eddie Howe has some selection decisions to make ahead of Wednesday’s game.

Nick Pope has been an unused substitute in the last two games, but the England goalkeeper could be given the nod to return to the starting line-up ahead of Martin Dubravka.

Similarly, after a late substitute appearance against Brighton at the weekend, Kieran Trippier could be selected to start at right-back, which would mean Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall competing for a place on the left of the back four.

There is a chance Fabian Schar could be brought into action after the Swiss centre-half missed Saturday’s tie through injury, while Joelinton and Miguel Almiron could also feature in the starting line-up as substitutes at the weekend.

Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Targett, Joe Willock and Lewis Miley have been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Sandro Tonali remains unavailable through suspension.

Newcastle (probably 4-3-3): Pope; Livramento, Krafth, Burn, Hall; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.

HOW IS MAN UTD SHAPING?

The pressure is mounting on embattled Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag after Sunday’s home defeat to Arsenal followed on the heels of last week’s drubbing at Crystal Palace.

Manchester United head into Wednesday’s game three points behind Newcastle in the table, and their dire goal difference means they almost certainly need to win to retain any chance of European qualification through their league position. They will, however, secure a place in the Europa League if they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final later this month.

Ten Hag will be hoping Bruno Fernandes is fit to line up against Newcastle after the Portuguese midfielder was forced out of Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal through injury. Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount were also absent at the weekend but are likely to be involved on Wednesday.

The Ten Hag have been forced to play Casemiro at centre-half in the last two games and the Brazilian is likely to be forced to stay at the back, with Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw expected to remain unavailable.

Man Utd (probably, 4-2-3-1): Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Evans, Dalot; Mainoo, Eriksen; Garnacho, McTominay, Rashford; Hojlund.
