Mother says Spanish police and Interpol are now looking for missing 26-year-old Ben Ross in Mallorca

An update has been issued after a man went missing in Mallorca. Ben Ross was last heard from on July 10 after traveling to the island, initially on holiday, in June.

The 26-year-old found a job with an energy company, working in sales, before finding a flat in Palma, in the south of the island, moving from his home in Golborne, Wigan. Following what his mother, Felix, called “a series of unfortunate events”, she said Ben’s mental health deteriorated.

On July 6, Ben’s bag, which contained his phone, wallet, keys and iPad, was allegedly stolen while he was going for a swim in the ocean. He reported the incident to police and his mother said he left the station in the early hours of July 7. However, his mother said he then had a disagreement with his flatmates who asked him to leave. And she believes this, along with the loss of his possessions, caused his mental health to take root.

His mother managed to stay in touch with Ben until 10 July when Felix received a distressed email claiming to be from Ben at a new email address as he was unable to access any of his accounts existing due to two-factor authentication and had lost his phone. The email told her that her son had been fighting with his flatmates and suggested that she was not interested in what happened next to him, which left Felix seriously worried about Ben.

Felix claims that following widespread media attention, Spanish police are now working with Interpol to find Ben. Felix told the ECHO earlier this week: “He seemed to have put it all together but a series of unfortunate events led to him having a breakdown.

“He’s a lovely boy, he’d do absolutely anything for anyone. He is extremely polite and would never pass anyone in need. He started having these problems a few years ago and it affected his studies. He was preparing for the student. because he trained to be a lawyer, but we don’t know how it all started.”

Overseas charity LBT Global has since posted an appeal on its social media channels, appealing for information and urging people not to approach Ben if they see him on the island. The charity’s appeal also claims Ben was last seen around July 12, two days after he last spoke to Felix.
