Woman arrested after man found injured in street

A woman has been arrested after a man suffered serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Nottingham.

Police were called to Mapperley Road at around 04:00 BST on Friday to reports of a man lying in the road and then being hit by a car.

The victim, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital, but no further information on his condition was released.

Police have confirmed that a 48-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

Police said despite the arrest, their investigation is ongoing and appealed for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to get in touch.
