Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors LIVE early team news and fixtures from MKM Stadium

Hull FC return home on Saturday afternoon and Wigan Warriors head to the MKM Stadium. This is a huge test for the Black and Whites, with the Super League champions having won 29 of their last 31 games since July.

It’s been a phenomenal run of form from Matt Peet, who currently have all four trophies on offer – Super League, Challenge Cup, League Leaders Shield and World Club Challenge – in their cabinet. They currently lead this year’s competition by two points but have two games in hand on second-placed Warrington.

For Hull, the message is simple: be brave and stick to the game plan. Simon Grix wants to see a disciplined attacking performance from his side, with the team working on the desired points and putting their game into practice. A big game awaits with two new faces, Ed Chamberlain and King Vuniyayawa joining the Black and Whites this week. As always, we’ll have all the team news, preparations and live action as it unfolds.

Today’s game

Ed Chamberlain is expected to go straight back into the Hull side today. The center or back row has joined the club on loan for the rest of the season, with the player signing a three-year contract from 2025.

Sam Tomkins is coming out of retirement.

Sam Tomkins will come out of retirement for the Catalans Dragons after signing a contract until the end of the 2024 season. The full-back, regarded as one of Super League’s greatest ever players, is now set to return to Perpignan against Hull FC next week.

Update Cade Cust

Hull FC are hoping to bring in one of their 2025 signings, Cade Cust, for the rest of the season. The Aussie lined out for the Red Devils last night and would give the Black and Whites options in both the hooker and half-back positions.

Hull FC’s Lachlan Lam’s performance

Hull FC made a high profile move for Lachlan Lam this week. However, the deal is far from done, with a dispute over the contract clause taking place. However, the Black and Whites are understood to be keen to do so, with a huge offer on the table. He is also expected to face competition elsewhere in Super League, with Leigh also determined to keep the midfielder on their books.

Feature Liam Sutcliffe

It was good to compete in the games again and be there or thereabouts, but I think everyone got tired of saying “We’re still in the game”. We don’t just want that. We want to try to get some points and come away with some wins.

Preview Simon Grix

Interim coach in today’s Round 18 clash.

It’s about trying to get that discipline with the way we play. The best players, says Nathan Cleary, might do the same play five times and not pull the trigger once, but by the sixth, he’s seen enough and had enough pictures of it. He knows what’s coming, he’ll make the right pass and they’ll try. We allow ourselves time to gain more information by making plays over and over again. That’s what I’m looking for.
