A man has left with suspected life-changing injuries after the attack in Bristol city centre

A man in his 20s is in hospital with suspected life-changing injuries after being punched. Police are releasing images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened in the early hours after England lost the Euro final.

The incident happened at around 12.45pm on Monday, July 15, on St Nicholas Street in Bristol. The suspect is described as white, in his 20s or 30s, about 6 feet tall, with short, dark hair.




Case officer DC Emily Barber, said: “The victim continues to receive treatment in hospital and we are determined to give her loved ones answers about what happened.

“We hope the public can help us identify the man, who is shown on CCTV wearing a red England football shirt.

“The incident happened hours after England were defeated in the Euro 2024 final, so there were still a large number of people in the area watching the game. We believe there may be witnesses who have yet to come forward, perhaps because they did not realize the seriousness of the incident at first, but we would now like to encourage them to contact us.”
