Triumph Speed 400: Rs. 2.24 lakh

The Triumph Speed 400 is one of the Guerrilla’s closest rivals. The Speed might look more compact than the RE, but it weighs 9kg less and has almost the same power at 39.5bhp. The torque output of 37.5 Nm is, however, lower by 2.5 Nm. It boasts top quality levels, offers decent agility and ride quality and brings the pride of owning a brand as premium as Triumph.

Harley-Davidson X440: Rs. 2.39-2.79 lakh

With its starting price exactly the same as the Guerrilla, the Harley-Davidson 440 offers an older motorcycling experience. The engine is a simple, air-cooled thumper that focuses more on delivering good torque across the rev range than horsepower. It boasts a unique retro design that is somewhat inspired by the Harley XR1200, but the feature list is contemporary with things like a digital console and Bluetooth connectivity.

Jawa 350: Rs. 1.99-2.24 lakh

A little further down the price spectrum is the Jawa 350. Visually, it pays homage to the Jawas of yesteryear, while the feature list is a bit rudimentary. What it does get are essentials like an assist and slipper clutch and dual-channel ABS. The bike’s engine is a 334cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 22.26 bhp and 28.1 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The latest version is improved in terms of ergonomics and quality levels over its predecessor.

KTM RC 200: Rs. 2.15-2.18 lakhs

If you’re also exploring options in the sportbike category, the KTM RC 200 is a strong offering. KTM’s new-age design is complemented by premium hardware such as WP Apex suspension and ByBre brakes. Its high-revving 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine produces 24.6PS at 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm at 8,000rpm. With a curb weight of 160 kg, the RC 200 boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio. Interestingly, the new model is even more forgiving than its predecessor in terms of seat ergonomics.
