Job: Operations Support Administrator | Cornwall Business

Hours: Flexible and negotiable, between 0.4 FTE and 0.8 FTE

Location: Office based, Tremough Innovation Centre, Penryn Campus, Cornwall

Estimated salary range: £22,000 to £23,900 (pro-rated for part-time hours) Reporting to: Operations Manager Start Date: ASAP

Job description:

  1. Provide administrative office support to enable smooth running of BNF activities.
  2. Accounting – collect and record the charity’s financial transactions, raise invoices and pay and record purchase invoices.
  3. Individual Giving – keep accurate records of donations using the BNF database and systems and monitor our donation platforms; make sure all individual and corporate donors are satisfied with their donations and feel appreciated.
  4. Merchandise – assumes responsibility for managing the Etsy shop and other online shopping platforms, including reporting inventory counts, preparing and posting orders, and assisting with new product development.
  5. Compliance – assist the Operations Manager with the development, implementation and maintenance of charity governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
  6. Administration – arrange and update insurance policies, book travel and accommodation for BNF staff, handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  7. IT – monitors shared mailboxes, maintains the functionality of our collaboration platform and online tools, and identifies new tools where needed to support teams.
  8. Stationary – monitor stock and order as needed.
  9. Keep up to date with changes to regulations and standards affecting the charity sector, including data protection and privacy.
  10. Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes and improve efficiency within BNF operations.
  11. Performs other tasks and duties as may fall within the scope of BNF office requirements.

Please have all or some of the following skills and experience:

  • Work experience in operational administration
  • Experience of working in the charity sector and knowledge of charity compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, enjoy dealing confidently with people at all levels as well as external stakeholders
  • Good number with an excellent eye for detail

Proficient IT skills

  • AAT or equivalent desirable
  • GDPR awareness
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, manage workload and develop the role

You will work in an international team, with people based in the UK, France, Catalunya, the Netherlands and Indonesia.
