Information on Belfast City Marathon road closures in the city for 2024

The trainers are ready and final training has been completed for Sunday’s race day in Belfast.

The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon marks its 42nd anniversary on Sunday 5th May – starting from Stormont and finishing at Ormeau Park.

A number of road closures will be in place around town to facilitate the race, so if you’re planning to go watch the race or plan a trip anywhere along the route, this is something to be aware of.

In accordance with road closure legislation, a road closure order has been applied to Belfast City Council for the Belfast Moy Park City Marathon and therefore drivers should expect some disruption.

Drivers are asked to follow diversion signs and take direction from route stewards.

Road closures will begin in full or in part from 6:00 a.m. until approximately 4:30 p.m.

Although once the participants have passed the points on the route, the reopening of the roads will be managed as quickly as possible.
