Liverpool transfer news: Goncalo Inacio bid set amid Barcelona double strike

Liverpool prepare Inacio bid

Liverpool have identified Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio as their priority transfer target and are preparing to make their first bid. The Reds are reportedly interested in signing a left-footed centre-back this summer and Inacio, who played for Portugal at Euro 2024, would be a good fit.

Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha claim that despite initially being unwilling to sell below €60m (£51m), Sporting have agreed to start talks at €45m (£38m pounds). That sum would represent a bargain for Liverpool, who have long been keen to sign the 22-year-old.

Barcelona double blow expected

Barcelona are reportedly confident of completing deals to sign both Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, two players who have also been linked with Liverpool. Athletic Bilbao winger Williams is closing in on a move to Cataluyna, say local publication Sport, while Barca are also ready to step up their efforts to sign Olmo from RB Leipzig.

Mundo Deportivo add that Barcelona have completed a possible six-year deal for the Leipzig player, who was at Barcelona for seven years as a youth. Both Olmo and Williams were among Spain’s best performers as they won Euro 2024.

Liverpool are preparing a record bid for Kubo

Liverpool are said to be preparing a €65m (£54m) bid to sign Real Sociedad striker Takefusa Kubo. The Japan international, formerly of both Barcelona and Real Madrid, enjoyed another successful season with the La Liga side last season and is just 23 years old.

Now, according to Japanese publication Sponichi, Liverpool are preparing an offer that would make him the most expensive player in the country’s history. Currently tied to a contract that runs until 2029, the versatile attacker would be hard to come by for a small fee.
