Luis Enrique crucial to convince Manchester United target to sign PSG project

Paris Saint-Germain could be closer to securing SL Benfica midfielder João Neves. Furthermore, if the Parisians were to agree to a deal with the Portuguese side, they would beat Manchester United to secure the teenager this summer.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided more behind-the-scenes information. He notes that PSG have officially bid around €70m for Neves, while Benfica are looking for a bit more, they understand PSG will not meet their €120m release clause.

Romano adds that Neves has agreed with PSG and is eager to join. He is particularly convinced of the project, with Luis Enrique playing a crucial role in his decision.

“There is a proposal for João, yes,” Costa said. “We are discussing the amount. I never said that João would only leave for 120 million euros.”
