Baby girl arrives with a string of sevens: born on the 7th, weighs 7lbs 7oz, in room seven

A mum has declared seven as her baby’s lucky number after the little one turned 7 in room seven and weighed 7lbs 7oz. Laura Farrer, 38, and her freelance husband Danny, 43, had even made a playful bet two months before she went into labour.

The father-to-be was convinced their baby would be born on July 7, weighing exactly 7lb 7oz. Laura was “shocked” when his prediction turned out to be correct – she actually gave birth in room number seven and claims to have seen the number everywhere since then.

Although the “bet” was just for fun and no money was exchanged, Laura now wishes she had placed a real bet. Laura, an HR business partner in Rugby, Warwickshire, said: “We’ve just started seeing the number come up over and over again.”

She added: “My husband said it into existence.”

She believes that seven must be her daughter’s lucky number from now on.

On Tuesday 2nd July, Laura was informed by her midwife that she would need to be induced in a few days. However, on arrival at Coventry and Warwickshire University Hospital, she was told she would have to wait six days for a place on the labor ward.

“As the days went by, we realized he was actually very close to being born on the 7th,” Laura said. They were called to be inducted at 8.30pm on Saturday 6th July.
