Abandoned kitten found on M6 with fleas, broken jaw and dental injuries

A cute kitten found on the M6 ​​was left neglected after possibly being thrown from a car, a vet’s practice believes. The kitten, now named Harriet, survived but suffered injuries to her jaw and teeth.

The “lucky” cat was rescued by Animal Rescue House in Birmingham, who urged others to keep Harriet in their “thoughts and prayers”. They said her jaw was likely fractured and one of her teeth embedded in her mouth following the incident on the motorway, BirminghamLive reported.




The three-month-old car was said to be a “lovely” animal, initially taken to YourVets in Smethwick for facial injuries before being transferred to Solihull for specialist dental care. She was also found to be infested with fleas and malnourished.

The animal rescue took to Facebook to share pictures of Harriet. They wrote: “Please say hello to Harriet as I named her. This little girl is so lucky to be alive, but she’s probably used up a few of her nine lives.

“She was taken to YourVets, Smethwick, after being found on the hard shoulder of the M6 ​​with facial injuries. Vets suspect she was thrown from a car and would have landed face first if she had been hit by even a stunning hit by a car were she not here now.

“One of her teeth was embedded in the roof of her mouth and she has a suspected fractured jaw. She was transferred to YourVets, Solihull, as they have a specialist dental x-ray machine to see if there is any further damage or anything else going on. he was a bit out of it.

“Harriet is now having some pain relief, she was absolutely miserable with fleas, which she was treated for and is very thin, weighing only 980g at about 12 weeks old, but even she feels as rough as she does, she is the most adorable and cute kitten and loves to be cuddled and comforted to finally be safe.
