The Bristol Bears will host the Wallabies in a historic clash

NEWS: Bristol Bears will host Australia in a friendly at Ashton Gate on November 8 this year.

The Wallabies will take part in the Premiership during their UK tour, where they face England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland in the Nation Series.

It is the second time in two years the Bears will play an international team on their home ground after a record crowd of 26,387 saw the team beat South Africa ‘A’ 26-18 in November 2022.

History will be made again when, 115 years after the first Australian team on tour played a combined Bristol and Clifton side, the Australians come to Bear Country at a critical time as they head into the British & Irish tour Lions from 2025.

“After such an incredible occasion against South Africa a few years ago, the opportunity to welcome another international side of Australia’s quality to Bristol is hugely exciting,” said Bristol Bears Director of Rugby Pat Lam.

“This is a huge opportunity for our players to test themselves against an international standard team, for our staff to put on another unforgettable event and for our incredible supporters to welcome and host Australian supporters from around the world in Bristol.”
