Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Patent Images Launching This Year? – Bike news

Patent images of the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 reveal more details about the bike, hinting at its launch timeline.

The 650cc platform has proved successful for Royal Enfield and has already spawned four motorcycles – the Interceptor, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor and Shotgun. There is no doubt that there will be more bikes as the company has been seen testing several models.

However, what is sparking interest are the patent images of what looks like the Scrambler 650, based on the Interceptor 650 platform. While the patent images reveal few details about the bikes, it raises the question of whether the bike will be launched this year.

Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Features and Hardware

As mentioned earlier, it will be based on the 650cc Interceptor platform and the bike carries the same fuel tank and side panels while also sporting a round headlight. The images show that the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 will have spoked wheels, USD forks at the front, dual rear shocks, disc brakes at both ends and a round instrument console, most likely the one from the Guerrilla 450 and Himalayan.

In terms of electronics, the bike will get a dual-channel ABS, hopefully with a rear system shutdown function, given that it is a scrambler. The exhaust setup is also different, featuring a 2-into-1 system, presumably to keep weight under control. The bike will get dual-purpose tires as revealed by various spy shots. With TFT, the bike will also get phone connectivity and navigation.

Royal Enfield Scrambler 650: Engine Specifications

In terms of engine specifications, the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 will be powered by the same 648cc air-cooled parallel twin engine that churns out 47bhp and 52Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The engine will have the same state of tune as the other four models that are currently on sale, however, Royal Enfield might modify the cogs to set the bike for its intended purpose.

As for the launch of the Scrambler 650, Royal Enfield might showcase it later this year at Motoverse 2024 and schedule the launch and price announcement at a later stage.
