Roadworks for the week in Coventry as the summer holidays begin

The summer holidays have begun, which means many people will be heading out on their getaways to enjoy the sun and warm weather. This means the roads can be more congested as many make their journeys for stays or trips abroad.

For those looking to avoid traffic congestion, drivers need to know what roadworks will be taking place in Coventry. Many road works are taking place in the city, from road improvements, drainage works, road improvements and the addition of new bridges and structures.

• Macauly Road – road closed from 9am to 3pm until Friday 26 July for road reconstruction.
• Alderminster Road (from Broad Lane to Aynho Close) – lane closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 26 July for road reconstruction.
• New Union Street Car Park – pavement closed until Monday 12 August for pavement reconstruction.
• Beake Avenue (intersection with Links Road) – 24 hour lane closure and 4-way lights until Friday 9 August for signal installation.
• Foxton Road – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 23 August for road improvements.
• Gaydon Close – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 9 August for road improvements.
• Keresley Brook Road – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 11 October for road improvements.
• Dane Road (Shakespeare Street to number 115 both sides) – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 6 September for road reconstruction.
• The Avenue – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 30 August for road reconstruction.

• Earlsdon Street (From Moor Street to the island end of Earlsdon St) – lane closure from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 9 August for ELN (Mixed Track and Path).

• Stoneleigh Avenue – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 2 August for ELN (Kenilworth Road junction closure).

• Ringway Hill Cross (Holyhead Road slip) – lane 2 closure from 9.30am to 3.30pm until Monday 29 July for VRS works.

• Wellington Street – road closed between 7.30am and 4pm until Friday 9 August for resurfacing.

• Greyfriars Lane (from Salt Lane to High Street) – road closed from 7.30am to 4pm until Friday 13 September for drainage works.
