Disruption at Huddersfield station throughout August – data and services affected

Passengers are being warned of more delays through Huddersfield station as work to upgrade it continues.

Network Rail said services through Huddersfield will be affected on weekends in August while they carry out major upgrades. It is expected to run until Sunday 1 September and excludes the bank holiday weekend of 24 and 25 August.

It is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), which saw engineers upgrade the railway between Huddersfield and Leeds between June 24 and July 19 this year. The TRU is a multi-billion pound improvement project designed to make services in the region greener, faster and more reliable.

Jonathan Hepton, sponsor for the Transpennine Route Upgrade, said: “I would like to thank customers traveling between Huddersfield and Leeds over the last four weeks for their support as we carried out this vital work. The improvements will enable more reliable services that connect better. cities and towns of the north’.
