Police update after motorcyclist seriously injured in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST remains in hospital with serious injuries following an accident.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the North Bridge overpass in Halifax on Sunday.

The rider, a man, was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary.

The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place.

Full statement from West Yorkshire Police

A spokesman said: “Police were called to a vehicle collision on North Bridge at 11.09am yesterday (Sunday, July 21).

“The driver of the motorcycle, an adult man, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

“The road was closed for several hours while investigations took place.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or has a dash cam is asked to contact police on 101 or use the live chat options at www.westyorkshire.police.uk/livechat quoting log 636 of July 21”

Yorkshire Ambulance Service full statement

A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received an emergency call at 11am on Sunday morning to a report of a man who had fallen from a motorbike on the North Bridge overpass in Halifax.

“An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, a doctor and a team leader were sent to the scene and a male patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.”
