Leeds United are interested in former Marsch assistant Rene Maric

Leeds United are interested in Bayern Munich II coach Rene Maric, according to a report from German news outlet Tageszeitung.

Leeds United were under Jesse Marsch from February 2023 to February 2023, first avoiding relegation to the Championship before another tough campaign under the American boss.

Marsch brought in a number of coaches to his backroom team and among them was Austrian Rene Maric, who had previously held roles as Marco Rose’s number 2 at RB Salzburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund.

Now, it is claimed Maric is back on the radar at Elland Road.

German news outlet Tageszeiting claim that Leeds United are interested in their former assistant coach amid his impressive work with Bayern Munich’s development side. His contract is up this summer and while the club would like to extend his stay, no decision has yet been made.

As such, he is of interest to Leeds, while Championship rivals Sunderland are again being mentioned amid recent links between the two.
