Missing Ben Ross found alive in Mallorca

Trainee solicitor Benjamin Ross, who went missing in Mallorca, has been found, it has been confirmed. Ben, 26, from Golborne in Wigan, arrived at the British consulate in Palma today (Tuesday) “tired and exhausted but alive”, his family say.

They say he lost contact with his mother, Felix Robinson, after a “series of unfortunate events”, including having his belongings stolen while he was out swimming.

The two were now emotionally reunited at the consulate. Felix said: “I am so incredibly grateful for all the help and support I have received. Everyone was really incredible. We are so relieved to have found him and are now focused on getting him back to full health and home safely.”

Ben has been missing on the Spanish island since July 10. He flew there for a dream break in June to visit a friend, before extending his stay and finding work and temporary accommodation. He was staying in Palma, the capital of the popular holiday destination – but has not been heard from for nearly two weeks.

As part of the post-Brexit work processes, Britons must now secure a European work number, and on July 6, Ben set out to do just that, his family said today in an explanation of his disappearance .
