Jorginho explains his thoughts on Arsenal’s newest summer signing

Jorginho shared a warm welcome to Arsenal’s latest signing on social media.

The Gunners snapped up esteemed sports massage therapist Manoel Marcelo Ribeiro, affectionately known as Manny, from Premier League rivals Chelsea back in February. Manny, whose CV boasts stints at Fulham and West Ham before joining the Blues in 2009, has been instrumental behind the scenes, contributing to Jorginho’s trophy-laden journey at Stamford Bridge, marked by Champions League and European triumphs League – among others.

Last Saturday night, Manny expressed his gratitude: “Thank you Chelsea for the last 15 seasons. (12 trophy emojis) I had a blast! All the current and former players I have shared the dressing room with all these years, It was a pleasure, also a big thank you to all the staff who dealt with me and I won so many trophies (three blue heart emojis and a please). “

The Instagram world reacted with over a thousand likes and messages that came from famous faces such as Diego Costa, John Terry and Cesar Azpilicueta. Former Arsenal stars Willian and David Luiz also chimed in, hailing Ribeiro’s transition.

Adding to the flow of good vibes, Jorginho took to his own Instagram story to post a cheerful selfie with Manny, both dressed in Arsenal training kit. Giving a thumbs up, Jorginho captioned the moment: “Welcome my friend (red heart emoji).”

The Gunners are closing in on Riccardo Calafiori, with club officials pulling out all the stops to bring the Bologna defender to London. Arsenal’s interest comes off the back of his outstanding displays for Italy at Euro 2024, despite the team’s exit in the last 16.

According to Sky Sports, the purchase of Calafiori is nearing completion. Although his performances have attracted eyes from Liverpool as well as European heavyweights Juventus and Real Madrid, it is Arsenal who appear to be eyeing the player.
