The girl was left an orphan after her parents and sisters died in an A61 accident – as a relative says her heart “broke into pieces” | UK news

A girl has been orphaned following a horrific crash that killed four of her family and two other people – as a relative says his heart was ‘torn into a million pieces’.

Shane Roller, his partner Shannen Morgan and two of their daughters, Lillie and Rubie, died on the A61 near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, when their Ford Focus collided with a motorbike on Sunday afternoon.

A Gofundme page set up for their 11-year-old daughter, who was not in the car, had reached more than £45,000 by Monday afternoon.

A man and a woman on a motorcycle were also killed in Sunday’s incident and all six died at the scene – on the A61 between Wakefield and Barnsley.

Callum Roller posted a Facebook tribute to his “amazing brother”, sister-in-law and nieces who died in the collision.

“I’m heartbroken, I’m going to miss you all!” he wrote.

“It absolutely broke my heart and it absolutely broke both sides of my families!

“You all have a heart of gold and will be missed like crazy! My heart goes out to Shannen’s side of the family and mine! We are all in absolute shock.”

“My heart is broken into a million pieces!!!” he added.

The family were traveling in a Ford Focus when the accident happened just before 4pm.

The names of the people on the motorcycle are unknown at this time.

Superintendent Alan Travis called it a “truly horrific collision that (we) are currently in the early stages of investigating.”

Police have not yet released details about how it happened and want witnesses or anyone with dashcam video to contact them.

Investigators were still at the scene of the crash near Staincross on Monday and the road remained closed.

Sky’s Frazer Maude said the speed limit was 40mph, but locals told him concerns had been raised because people were often driving much faster.

People laid flowers near the crash site – one of them, Jamie Phillips, told Sky News they were a “lovely” family.

More than £33,000 has already been donated online – less than 24 hours after the crash – to help the family’s surviving daughter.

Superintendent Travis said specialist officers were supporting the families of the victims.
