The South Bristol police inspector is alleged to have ‘assaulted’ two women

A senior Avon & Somerset police officer has been accused of assaulting two women off duty. Inspector Tola Munro, based in South Bristol and a former president of the National Black Police Association, faces a misconduct hearing at the force’s headquarters next week.

A notice on the police website said the officer allegedly breached the standards of professional conduct for police officers in terms of discreditable conduct and authority, respect and courtesy. It said: “The allegations are: On 6 May 2023 Inspector Munro, while off duty, assaulted two women.

“It is submitted that (if proven) the allegations amount to serious misconduct.” The Portishead hearing will be overseen by a legally qualified chairman who is independent of the police.
