Report: Suns set to add Brent Barry as assistant coach

The Phoenix Suns have added another member to their staff. Longtime San Antonio Spurs front office member Brent Barry is joining Mike Budenholzer’s staff as an assistant coach, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Barry, a two-time NBA champion, played 14 years in the NBA with six teams. The 1996 dunk contest winner joins a coaching staff that already includes Mike Hopkins, Chaisson Allen and David Fizdale.

The former NBA player’s transition into broadcasting was marked by a wealth of experience, cementing his presence with frequent appearances on NBA TV throughout the 2010s. Beyond the studio, his knowledge extended to digital, where he lent experience as an analyst for NBA 2K games. This dual role not only underscores his deep understanding of the game, but also highlights his ability to connect with audiences across platforms, providing valuable insights that resonate both on screen and in virtual arenas.
