The free school uniform store is back

The Free School Uniform Shop is back and will be open daily from Saturday 3rd August to Sunday 18th August in Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre.

The store has been set up to help families find those school wear essentials ahead of the new school year and will be open to visitors from 10am to 4pm.

To ensure there is enough for everyone, families can choose up to 4 uniform items for free without having to make a donation. The store will be available to customers while stocks last.

If you have spare uniform or school supplies, then it’s very easy to donate:

• the donation box is now open next to “Flying Tiger Copenhagen”
• branded and unbranded basic uniforms and sportswear are welcome. This can include shoes and school bags
• please ensure donations are quality and laundered.

Councilor Josh Blacker, the council’s cabinet member for a fairer start, recently visited to donate some much-loved items. He said: “As a parent of a school-age child, I know how expensive it can be to prepare them for the next school year. And if you have more than one school-aged child, then the expense just goes through the roof. The free school uniform shop is an absolute must-see for families.

“My thanks go to Ealing Broadway for continuing to host the store throughout the year and my thanks also go to everyone who donates to enable the store to be fully stocked.”

Andrew Rollings, center director at Ealing Broadway, added: “We know how valuable our free school uniform shops are to parents and children in the community, especially when the cost of living is still high.

“We really appreciate the local community supporting the initiative and donating hundreds of good quality pre-loved items, not only saving other families money but also preventing them from going to landfill. We look forward to welcoming families next week and helping them find what they need for the new school year.”
