The Prince of Wales has been announced as the new Patron for the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (RCAA).

Organizers of the Royal Cornwall Show say they are “delighted” and “honoured” that Prince William has accepted the role.

“His Royal Highness’ dedication to environmental conservation and innovation is matched by the Association’s commitment to providing a platform for farming and agriculture in Cornwall and helping to develop it.”

The RCAA has a long history of royal patronage, including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. King Charles III, then HRH The Prince of Wales, took over the patronage in 2002, which he held until his accession to the throne in 2022.

The association adds: “It is also an honor to receive this patronage in line with the position of His Royal Highness the Duke of Cornwall.

“The association aims to highlight and promote the county’s heritage and culture through local traditions, skills and knowledge, with Cornwall at the heart of everything we do, as well as our work to provide agriculture and rural education to schools across the Duchy. .

“We extend our warmest welcome to Her Royal Highness and our sincere gratitude for her patronage of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association and we look forward to welcoming her to the Royal Cornwall Show in the future.”
