The latest Leicester City transfer news as Pep Guardiola strikes

Leicester City fans will be delighted at the thought of returning to Premier League football this season.

The Foxes have already brought in four players this summer with Abdul Fatawu, Caleb Okoli, Michael Golding and Bobby De Cordova-Reid all completing deals at the King Power. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has left the club and Dennis Praet, Marc Albrighton and Kelechi Iheanacho have left after their contracts expired at the end of June.

Steve Cooper’s side are well into their pre-season schedule, with recent wins against Shrewsbury and Villarreal showing promising signs ahead of the season – next up, they face Palermo on July 26 before games against Augsburg and Lens. There are expected to be more arrivals before City kick off their season against Spurs on August 19.

Below is it Leicestershire Live’s roundup of the latest Foxes transfer news and gossip…

Mathias Soule

The Argentine youngster has been a hot prospect for several years but found form on loan from parent club Juventus to Serie A – now Serie B side Frosinone – where he scored 11 goals last season. It was reported earlier this week that the player had favored a potential move to AS Roma, but the Foxes could secure his signature this summer. At just 21, he would need time to develop to the intensity of English football but could certainly play a role this season if a deal can be struck. On Monday, Leicestershire Live reported: “Leicester City have ‘agreed’ a €30m fee with Juventus for the transfer of Matias Soule after their previous offer was rejected, according to an Italian journalist. In any case, Mirko Di Natale explained how the player wants to move to fellow Serie A side AS Roma – West Ham are also reported to be interested in the player.” No new information has been reported about the offer.
