AC Milan are considering alternatives to Manchester United target

Serie A giants AC Milan’s pursuit of Manchester United target Youssouf Fofana has stalled and the club are considering alternatives.

The Rossoneri are thought to be making good progress in talks to sign the Frenchman and have even agreed personal terms with the Monaco midfielder.

However, the dynamic has changed since Manchester United jumped into the race by making an inquiry for him.

AC Milan were hoping to do a deal for around €25m, but Monaco are now demanding a fee of around €35m.

According to the Italian sports daily TuttosportAC Milan’s pursuit of the midfielder has slowed.

The Rossoneri do not want to enter a bidding war for Fofana and are unwilling to pay Monaco’s revised asking price.

With the Frenchman’s move blocked, AC Milan are now considering alternative targets in the market.

Palmeiras’ Richard Rios and Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat are two clubs the Serie A giants are eyeing as alternatives to Fofana.
