Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto is a key target for Sean Dyche’s Everton this month and they are tracking the Italian after securing a deal to sign Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli.

Germany is the current destination for Leeds’ first team and the squad remains intact for now despite speculation linking the players away.

Willy Gnonto is one of those, still enjoying pre-season training in a wet camp but strongly linked with a return to the first level.

Everton will be chasing Gnonto after signing Lindstrom

Everton are closing in on another attacking signing this week as Fabrizio Romano revealed a loan deal is in place with Napoli to sign Jesper Lindstrom.

A loan deal with an option to buy set at €23m (£19.3m) is in place as the Dane flies to Merseyside to complete a medical and formalities.

Will Leeds be promoted this season?

The signing of a versatile attacking midfielder who can play on either wing could indicate that the Toffees are no longer pursuing their interest in Gnonto.

However, Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers said the monitoring of the Italian comes alongside the push to complete Lindstrom’s signing:

Gnonto could be hotly pursued by Everton soon

After selling Amadou Onana for £50m, it seems the Toffees are getting their ducks in a row with spending money.

Lindstrom comes in as another attacking option, while Gnonto is another option who could join if he heats up his pursuit.

They would appear to have prioritized landing the Danish striker first, with Leeds proving to be more difficult negotiators on Gnonto.
