Leicester City v Palermo squad news as four internationals return to squad but players missing

Mads Hermansen has returned from international duty and went straight into the Leicester City line-up for the pre-season friendly against Palermo.

The Danish goalkeeper, who represented his country at the European Championship, only returned to training on Monday but is tipped to start. He is part of a strong line-up at Chesterfield’s SMH Group Stadium.

Fellow internationals Jannik Vestergaard, Victor Kristiansen and Bobby De Cordova-Reid are on the bench, with the latter potentially playing his first game in a City shirt tonight. However, Wout Faes has no place in the squad.

Conor Coady captains the team in defence, with new signing Caleb Okoli alongside him at centre-back. Ricardo Pereira and James Justin play at full-back.

Harry Winks, Wilfred Ndidi and Boubakary Soumare are all included in midfield, with one expected to push further forward to play behind striker Patson Daka. Stephy Mavididi, in a central role at Shrewsbury, moves back to the wing with Abdul Fatawu on the other flank.

With the return of internationals, some youngsters have been cut. There is no place in the matchday squad for Sammy Braybrooke, Logan Briggs and Silko Thomas, the latter on loan at Wigan on Friday afternoon.
