Liverpool have given Federico Chiesa a transfer update as a deal with the free agent looms

Liverpool have been linked with several potential new signings since the summer transfer window opened. The Reds are yet to make any new additions to the squad and have until September 2 to complete their transfer business.

Pre-season training is underway for Liverpool with new head coach Arne Slot with the United States side. Friendlies will take place against Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United in the next two weeks before the Reds return to Merseyside.

Slot talked about the possibility of more signings when he held a press conference in Pittsburgh on Thursday. It remains to be seen if and when Liverpool will enter the transfer market to strengthen their squad.

The ECHO has taken a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer rumors that have been circulating in the last 24 hours.

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their reported pursuit of Juventus forward Federico Chiesa. The Reds have been credited with an interest in signing the Italy international in recent weeks.

According to Football Transfers, Chiesa’s most likely destination would be Tottenham Hotspur should he leave Juventus. The report claims that Liverpool are also interested in signing Chiesa, but will face competition from Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle, as well as the Saudi Pro League.

It has been claimed that Juventus will demand a fee of between €25m (£21m) and €30m (£25m) to allow Chiesa to leave the Serie A giants. However, it has been stated that Tottenham have a good relationship with Juventus, which may give them the upper hand in negotiations.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Bordeaux defender Mathys Angely. According to French news outlet Foot Mercato, the Boreaux players could be set to leave the club as free agents after the club’s bankruptcy was confirmed.
