Matt Peet shared his excitement ahead of Saturday’s Betfred Challenge Cup semi-final against Hull Kr at the eco-power stadium.

Looking at the Doncaster clash, Peet said: “This is a stand-alone game where form goes out the window a bit. I’m glad we played some decent things against Huddersfield, but there are also some things we need to improve on. This game (Hull KR) will be much tighter, much better and we will have to be tighter in certain areas.”

On preparations ahead of the tie, Peet said: “It’s about us focusing on preparing properly and focusing on what we do really well so we can put in a strong performance. This week is about us playing our best game.”

Speaking about the Challenge Cup, Peet said: “The beauty of the Challenge Cup for the city, the club and the supporters is having a fantastic weekend in London with so much history and tradition. The semi-final and the final are the games you want to play in and it’s a very exciting opportunity ahead.”

The club announced on Monday afternoon that Patrick Mago had signed a new two-year deal with the Warriors, and regarding the prop forward’s extension, Peet said: “Everyone can see the improvement that Patrick has made on the pitch and in outside of it. He’s a talented rugby league player, all the staff love working with him and I think he’s found a second home.”

Peet added: “I’m pleased he’s won another two years because it shows the belief he has in us and the trust we have in him. We still feel Patrick has some of his best years ahead of him.”

On Harvey Makin’s first Super League win with London Broncos, Peet said: “It was brilliant for Harvey, he loves it down there. I thought it was an outstanding performance from London who backed up their ability in what was a high-pressure game for both clubs.”
