1 dead in accident in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — One person was killed in an Ensley crash and fire Friday afternoon.

According to Birmingham Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Clay Hendon, firefighters were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. to a reported car accident in a trap building involving a fire at 1900 Ave. I. The identity of the victim is unknown at this time.

Hendon said the fire is out and the scene is under control.
