Mavado postpones UK show due to illness

Dancehall artiste Mavado has apologized to his UK fans after he was forced to cancel his upcoming performance in Nottingham.

In a statement shared on Instagram by Captain Bwoy Entertainment, the promoter of the event, Mavado explained: “It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce to my fans in the UK that the show at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, is scheduled for this Saturday. , July 27, has been rescheduled to September 27.”

The decision comes after Mavado fell ill with severe flu following a show in London. He said: “I was bedridden all week and had to seek medical attention. I’m over the worst and I’m recovering, but on doctors’ advice, I can’t perform this Saturday.”

He expressed his gratitude to his fans for their support during his four-week stay in the UK.

Mavado posted a black and white photo on his verified Instagram account with the caption: “My UK fans, sorry for the change of plan. I have no choice. Gully Gad will be back very soon,” along with praying hands and UK and Jamaican flag emojis.

Some fans who attended the London concert reported feeling ill afterwards, raising concerns about a potential disease spreading in the area.

One user wrote: “My friend and I went to a concert last weekend and now we are both sick. There’s definitely something going on in the UK at the moment. All my colleagues are also sick.”

Another shared: “Omg. I’m sick too.”

Meanwhile, Mavado has since returned to the US, where he currently resides.
