Police have explained why the helicopter was circling the skies above Nuneaton last night. Householders heard the helicopter in Arbury, Bermuda, Hill Top and close to George Eliot Hospital around 10pm.

It spun on low for about an hour. Warwickshire Police have confirmed that the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter has been deployed following a burglary.




This took place in the Weddington area of ​​the city. Officers launched a manhunt for the suspect and this included requesting helicopter assistance following a pursuit in the Hill Top area.

“At 9.20pm yesterday evening (July 25), we were called to reports of a suspected burglary on Weddington Road in Nuneaton,” a Warwickshire Police spokesman said. “A man with facial hair in gray sweatpants and a hoodie was allegedly seen crawling out of a builders merchant before getting on a blue bike.

“Power tools were found missing from the premises. Following a pursuit on Donnithorne Avenue, the National Police Air Service was called to assist in locating the alleged suspect, who unfortunately managed to escape.

“If anyone saw this happen, particularly if you have CCTV or dashcam footage, or if you can help us with our investigation, please contact us quoting incident 336 of July 25.”
