The police helicopter has joined the search following reports of a man ‘carrying a knife’ in Coventry

Police and NPAS were deployed to Coventry earlier this week following reports of a man “carrying a knife”. Officers were called to Freehold Street in Hillfields.

Officers rushed to Freehold Street at around 12.15pm on Wednesday (July 24). Crews from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) have also been drafted in to help with the search in Hillfields.

Officers searched the neighborhood but found no sign that anyone was armed, West Midlands Police said. After a search that lasted around 30 minutes, NPAS were also revoked, it is understood.
