35 Tramlines pictures that sum up a brilliant first day at Hillsborough Park

It’s been a brilliant first day at Hillsborough Park as Tramlines Festival 2024 officially got underway.

The three day festival, which runs from Friday, July 26, to Sunday, July 28, is expected to see 40,000 revellers descend on Sheffield. Paolo Nutini, Jamie T and Snow Patrol will headline the event, which has been held at Hillsborough Park since 2009.

The first day (Fri) saw fans gather in the sunshine for a day packed full of performances from acts including Barnsley rock band Bedroom High Club, The View, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Bombay Bicycle Club and headliner Paolo Nutini.

The festival also saw Shaun Williamson – who famously played Barry Evans in Eastenders – return to Tramlines for another year of Barrioke.

But it didn’t all go as planned, with some festival goers left fuming after disruption to the tram services across Sheffield left them stranded in the city centre. This disruption resulted in some fans being late to the festival, while others missed out on seeing their favorite act – The View.
